SmugSchool Intro Webinar Aug 31 @ 6PM Pacific
Posted on 30. Aug, 2009 by David Wolf in SmugSchool
I’m so excited about tomorrow. It’ll be the very first Webinar I’ve put on! So, let me give you some tips to maximize your enjoyment of the webinar (I already know I’ll be enjoying it!):
- Connect early! That way you’ll have time to deal with any technical issues that you didn’t expect.
- Make sure you follow the directions carefully. To get into the audio portion of the Webinar, you’ll need to call the phone number provided in the sign-up email OR hook up some headphones/microphone to your computer.
- (There are local dial numbers for countries all over the world; choose what’s closest to you!)
- You’ll be able to ask questions (by typing them) to me. Look to the bottom of the control panel and choose “Send question”. If it’s something that lots of people can benefit from, I’ll ask you to verbalize the question and I’ll answer it for everyone.
- The Webinar is scheduled for an hour; but, I’m fully prepared to keep going for an additional hour–if there are good questions! So, make sure you prepare
Questions? Comments? Let me know below…

David !
Smugschool is too cool for words. You have taught me so much about SEO, Website design and managment. And the best thing is that you are there to support me with it, help me do it or I can just ask and you will do my smugzation for me. I couldn’t ask for more in web support and my site is everything and more that I dreamed it could be!

Hi David. This was a great webinar. Learned a lot. I have a question though regarding duplicate/replace images in gallery. I am having to re-place all my photos in my galleries on my smug website due to wrong size for selling photos (pain!). I use Photoshop Bridge CS3 smugmug plug-in. Can I replace current photos in galleries as long as the image ID is the same using Bridge?? If so, how do you set the image to be replaced and not duplicated? I am having that issue. Thank you.

I’d actually use the built in SmugMug “simple” uploader for this. Just go to “add photos” and make sure that you have “Replace Duplicates” selected (bottom left drop down). Then, reupload the photos.
The filenames need to be identical to what is currently there AFAIK.

Thanks David…. I choose the replace duplicates, but I get a lot of “identical skipping”, so it looks like it is just uploading the newer ones and not replacing the ones that I want replaced. I have tried this several times especially after yesterdays slow down issues problems on smugmug. And I am using the “simple” uploader.
